Two men have been charged in a January shooting in Paterson, according to county officials.

Police say Francisco Bello-Amaro (31, Bronx) and Ronald Rosario (26, Paterson) were behind the January 19 shooting near Madison Ave and Ellison St, following an investigation by Paterson police.

Bello-Amaro faces attempted murder and weapons charges. Rosario is charged with attempted murder, hindering, and obstruction.

Officers responded around 4:20 a.m. and found a 23-year-old man who refused medical treatment.

Rosario was arrested Feb. 3, 2025, and Bello-Amaro was taken into custody in the Bronx on Jan. 22, 2026.

The case is still active. All defendants are presumed innocent.
